Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 16 July 2026
These terms govern your use of the Cape Town Timber Decking website ("the site") and the quotations, consultations, and installation services we ("Cape Town Timber Decking", "we", "our", "us") provide. By using the site or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.
1. Use of this website
The content on this site — including text, imagery, portfolio photography, and design — is provided for information purposes only and is owned by or licensed to Cape Town Timber Decking. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not reproduce, republish, or use our content or portfolio imagery commercially without our prior written consent.
2. Inquiries and quotations
Information submitted through our inquiry form, email, phone, or WhatsApp is used to prepare a quotation and, where required, arrange a site visit. Quotations are indicative until confirmed in writing following a site visit, and remain valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change if the scope, timber species, substrate, or site conditions change materially after quotation.
3. Deposits and payment
Projects proceed once a written quotation is accepted and the agreed deposit is received. Deposits secure timber, hardware, and scheduling and are non-refundable once materials have been ordered. Remaining payments follow the schedule set out in the accepted quotation. Late payments may attract interest at the prescribed rate and may pause work on site.
4. Timber, colour and natural variation
Garapa, Balau, Massaranduba, Ipe, and other premium hardwoods are natural products. Grain, tone, small surface checks, and colour change over time — particularly silvering under UV exposure — are intrinsic characteristics and are not defects. Portfolio images on this site show past installations and are indicative of style and craftsmanship rather than a guarantee of exact colour or grain in your project.
5. Site conditions and access
You are responsible for providing safe, reasonable access to the installation area, together with electricity and water where required. Concealed services, structural defects, moisture ingress, or substrate issues discovered during installation may affect scope, timing, and pricing, and will be discussed with you before additional work proceeds.
6. Timelines
Indicative timelines are provided in good faith but may be affected by weather, timber lead times, supplier delays, and site conditions. We will keep you informed of any material changes to your schedule.
7. Workmanship warranty
We provide a workmanship warranty on our installations as set out in your project quotation. The warranty covers defects in our installation but does not cover normal weathering, movement, or silvering of timber; damage from misuse, alterations by others, or lack of recommended maintenance; or events outside our reasonable control. Manufacturer warranties on timber and hardware apply as issued by the relevant supplier.
8. Maintenance
To keep your deck or pergola performing at its best, we recommend periodic cleaning and re-oiling in line with the guidance provided at handover. Failure to maintain the timber may affect the appearance and the applicability of the workmanship warranty.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with the site and our services is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific project or service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use, profits, or opportunity. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
10. Privacy
Personal information you provide through the site or during a project is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be dealt with in the courts of the Western Cape, without prejudice to any statutory dispute resolution rights.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always indicate the current version. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to info@cttd.capetown, or by post to Montague Drive, Montague Gardens, 7441, Cape Town.
